LEAMINGTON have suffered a major blow after prolific striker Mark Bellingham announced he is to leave the club.
Bellingham, who signed from Stourbridge in 2008, proved an instant hit at the New Windmill and scored an incredible 77 goals in 83 appearances, six of which were as substitute.
His goal scoring prowess played a big part in helping Brakes secure the Midland Division title and he continued to find the target regularly in the Premier Division this term.
Bellingham said:"I have had two good years at Leamington but have made the decision to move on.
"I have enjoyed my time playing for Paul Holleran and his management team and wish them and the club every success for the future.
"The club has a great fan base and I thank them and the board of directors for their support. Leamington has a bright future."
Holleran, who is already busy assembling his squad for next season, said:"I have known for some time there was a possibility that Mark may decide to move on.
"Clearly I am disappointed to lose a goalscorer of his ability and someone who has been a pivotal figure both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
"He has been great for me and the club and we wish him every success. The door will always be open for him.
"My planning for next season had already taken account of such a possibility. On a positive note the majority of last seasons squad have indicated their willingness to re-sign.
"I am comfortable that we will get the necessary signatures from them in the coming weeks. "
"We've also been talking to a number of players who we feel would strengthen the squad and early indications are positive.
"I want players who want to come to a progressive club like Leamington for the right reasons and you always want value for money. You have to be patient"
Meanwhile, Brakes fans can pick up a season ticket application form from either the clubhouse at the New Windmill or Tobey Jacks, Cupcake and Candy Store in Chandos Street in the town.
The club have announced that both season ticket and admission prices will be frozen for next season.
The Brakes Lottery result was No 26 and No 48.
There was no winner and the prize fund rolls over to an estimated £911 for this Saturday's draw.
